Manage Stress, Build Resilience
In 2016 the World Health Organisation identified stress as the health epidemic of 21st Century. Stress continues to be on the increase and has significant impact on wellbeing and mental health.
Unmanaged, stress can lead to poor wellbeing and mental health. Stress related illness, sickness absence & presenteeism have all been shown to decrease when there is investment in wellbeing. (Deloitte 2023. Mental Health & Employers Report)

This half day module can be extended into a full day workshop, in which attendees are guided to create their own stress prevention & resilience building plan.
Safer Interactions with the Public (in a Healthcare Setting)
Interactions with patients and families are changing. The public's expectations and demands are ever increasing, putting additional pressure on staff. Incidences of incivility are on the rise. How do we effectively de-escalate & turn around negative interactions & remain personally resilient?
​
This unique course has been created to increase resilience and confidence in the individual, by providing skills & insight with which to navigate interactions with the public.
It combines the essentials of conflict resolution with insight into mental health. It is informed by principles of patient care whilst combining key learnings from customer service. Finally it examines self-care as a means of protecting personal wellbeing.

Preventing Burnout for Clinicians
Burnout amongst clinicians is becoming increasingly common. In 2019, a BMA survey reported that 80% of doctors were at high or very high risk of burnout. In April 2022, they reported that 62% of junior doctors said they were currently suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, emotional distress, or another mental health condition, relating to or made worse by work or study.

This module is designed to help prevent burnout & the erosion of wellbeing among clinicians to:

Understand the circumstantial & personal factors which create the perfect storm for burnout..

Recognise the interplay between personal and clinical resilience.

Investigate the relationship between 'effort & reward' & 'power & control' on depersonalisation & emotional exhaustion (particularly in the context of the system).​

Recognise increase risk factors for burnout including moral injury, major life changes, proximity to illness & aging.

Understand the nature of chronic stress, vicarious trauma & PTSD in the context of clinical practice.

Growth mindset & managed personal expectations to secure resilience.

Sessions can be tailored to fit the requirements of your team expanding on specific areas of training or adapted to incorporate quality improvement activity.
Stress Reduction & Resilience Building for GPs
A 2022 survey by the Royal College of General Practitioners found that 39% of the GP workforce across the UK reported seriously considering leaving the profession within the following five years. GPs need more support than ever before.

Increasing pressures are causing doctors to leave their chosen career because of burnout, or a desire to avoid burnout. This module has been created for GPs and GP federations looking to invest in the resilience & wellbeing of their team.

This course has been developed for those working in healthcare & medicine, with the aim of empowering sustainable and effective self-care. Improving wellbeing in the workplace has been proven to increase employee engagement & productivity.
Chose between a half day awareness session or a full day session incorporating continuous growth plan for personal wellbeing.
First Aid for Mental Health
In the UK, one in four adults experience at least one diagnosable mental health problem in any given year.
Mental Health awareness has been shown to promote a mentally healthy working environment, in which preventable issues are dealt with allowing teams to thrive. It encourages people to seek help when needed so that they can recover faster. It also empowers people with long term mental health issues to thrive in an environment where they feel supported and accepted in an informed and positive culture.

To embed a culture that supports mental wellbeing, it is recommend that all employees have awareness training, managers & champions taking level 2 & wellbeing leads taking level 3.
​
First Aid for Mental Health Level 1 - Awareness (Half Day)
First Aid for Mental Health Level 2 - First Aider (Full Day)
First Aid for Mental Health Level 3 - Supervisor (Two Day)

Upon successful completion of the module & assessment, learners will be awarded an Ofqual regulated award & certificate.

Perimenopause & Menopause Awareness
In excess of 20% of the NHS workforce menopausal. Analysis by the West Midlands NHS Strategy Unit suggests: that 1 in 85 NHS employees may leave their NHS role & 1 in 48 may reduce their hours because of the severity of their menopausal symptoms. Research done with our clients suggests that these figures are in fact higher.

This module brings awareness & insight into the subject of perimenopause & the menopause.. It is designed to educate & inform; to bring understanding to a little understood subject that will impact us all at some stage. Those who take the course have found it 'empowering, informative & inspiring'. A significant number have taken positive action as a direct result of attending.
